Job Summary
Under the direction of the Parking & Transportation Communications and Project Specialist and/or P&TS full-time administrative team members, the Communications Student Assistant will provide support for graphic design creation and drafting social media posts. They may occasionally assist with department events. The student assistant will provide administrative support, and other tasks as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Capable of working with faculty, staff, and other students. Maintains a professional and friendly demeanor.
Knowledgeable of social media platforms and functions as well as awareness of current trends.
Prior experience or knowledge/experience with graphic design and video content, preferred.
General office duties such as data-entry, archiving, photocopying.
Draft and brainstorm content ideas for P&TS social media pages and newsletter.
Supports the Project Specialist with graphic design creation.
Assist with photo/video capture and archiving images on the server.
Assist Communications Specialist with event messaging, materials setup, and social coverage for department events on campus.
Required Qualifications
Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
Background Check
A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for this position. CSU will make a conditional offer of employment, which may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information, and/or it is discovered that the candidate knowingly withheld or falsified information. Failure to satisfactorily complete the background check may affect the continued employment of a current CSU employee who was conditionally offered the position.
