Classification Range $16.00 - $24.00 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $16.50.

Job Summary

The COMM Squad is seeking an individual to create social media content for the Pollak Library, assisting with creating, posting, and working with a team to promote library events and informational material. This student is a Major or Minor (or graduate student) in Communications or Television Arts who is not due to graduate before May 2025, and who is proficient in Adobe Suite. 

 

Responsibilities:

 

• Assist with creating, editing, and posting videos and images. 

• Assist with designing artwork that meets CSU Accessible Technology standards (training provided)

• Help document visual messaging best practices for library faculty, staff, and student assistants

• Collaborate with library faculty, staff, and student assistants

This is a 20-hour week position that reports to the COMM Squad. It is a High Impact Practice position that collaborates heavily with library faculty, staff, and student assistants. It is part of a team that also consists of graphic design and other social media student assistants.

Minimum Qualifications

Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.

Required Qualifications

  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic probation, continued probation, academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide employment eligibility documents.
  • Must have applied and received Federal Work-Study as a part of their financial aid award; must be approved by Financial Aid.
  • Preferred Qualifications: 

     - Knowledgeable in social media

    • Proficient in Adobe Premiere or other Editing Software
    • Knowledgeable in Cinematography and Photography
      • iPhone is okay, digital camera skills appreciated. 
    • Proficient in Canva and/or Adobe Suite
    • Organized
    • Creative
    • Technologically savvy
      • Apple and Windows
    • Good at writing and editing
    • Some graphic design experience.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
