Department of Modern Languages and Literatures Graduate Assistant
POSITION
The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures at CSU Fullerton invites applications for the position of Graduate Assistant.
We welcome applications from current CSUF graduate students in the Spanish MA program to:
Host a Spanish language table (mesa de español) two times per week for 1 hour
Coordinate with the other Graduate Assistant to plan topics for conversation
Assist students with tutoring or with homework or writing assistance as needed.
Keep track of attendance and report to the Spanish program, and to individual professors as needed.
Two Graduate Assistants will be hired to work 2 hours per week (1 hour of hosting and one hour of prep) during the Spring 2025 semester
APPOINTMENTS ARE TEMPORARY AND OFTEN MADE JUST PRIOR TO THE START OF THE ACADEMIC TERM. APPLICANTS MAY BE OFFERED EMPLOYMENT ON VERY SHORT NOTICE.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidate must be a currently enrolled graduate student in the M.A. program in Spanish
Must be in good academic standing
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates should demonstrate their mastery of the grammar and spelling in the Spanish language through a writing sample, be responsible and have attained good grades in prior coursework.
Candidates should have the ability to work collaboratively and respect cross-cultural differences

COMPENSATION
All Graduate Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $3,408 to $6,072 per month Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $4,500
The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
Hourly rate: $25.96
The two positions will each be paid 2 hours weekly (1 hour of preparation, 1 hour of directing the Spanish table)

The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus.
