Department of ISDS Teaching Associates Pool
POSITION
The Department of ISDS in the College of Business and Economics at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Teaching Associates pool.
The ISDS Department at the College of Business seeks a qualified and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant for ISDS 361A. This course focuses on imparting essential statistical skills within the context of business analytics, emphasizing the selection of appropriate statistical tools for various applications and fostering proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Responsibilities:
1. Assist in Course Instruction:
Collaborate with the course instructor to facilitate class sessions and discussions one day a week.
Provide guidance to students on statistical concepts, data analysis techniques, and inference methodologies.
Conduct review sessions and workshops to reinforce key course concepts.
2. Grading and Feedback:
Evaluate assignments, quizzes, and exams, providing timely and constructive feedback to students.
Assist in the development of grading rubrics and ensure consistency in grading practices.
Address student inquiries regarding grading and course content.
3. Assist in Administrative Support:
Assist in the preparation of instructional materials, including presentations, handouts, and assignments.
Collaborate with the instructor in monitoring the online learning platform and maintaining a smooth learning experience for students.
4. Office Hours:
Hold regular office hours to provide additional support and clarification to students.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Candidates must be a currently enrolled graduate student in the Department of ISDS.
A Bachelors (i.e. BA) degree in ISDS or related field or equivalent experience.
Candidates should demonstrate their ability to interact and work effectively with a wide and culturally diverse range of students, including first-generation college students
Knowledge of the subject matter of the course(s) to which the individual is assigned.
Ability to instruct and evaluate students effectively.
For the initial appointment, evidence of satisfactory achievement in previous academic work (transcripts and/or letters of recommendation).
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Strong academic background in statistics and business analytic
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other statistical tools relevant to the course.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Previous teaching assistant or tutoring experience is an asset.
Knowledge of the prerequisites and corequisites of the course.

COMPENSATION
All Teaching Associate appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers. Initial appointments are for one semester only.
Classification Range: $3,245 to $7,598 per month Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $5,200 per month
The full-time monthly base salaries indicated above are prorated to the time base assigned.
The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.
