Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $18.50.

Work Schedule

Student assistants are expected to work in the front office for 10–15 hours per week between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Flexible scheduling is available to accommodate class schedules.

Job Summary

Student Assistants will work under the direct supervision of professional staff or faculty to provide support in the following areas:

  • Greet and escort students and visitors to faculty offices or student lounges
  • Assist with event setup and takedown
  • Create, maintain, and replenish flyers in the front office
  • Maintain student lounges by removing outdated flyers/items, tidying up, and keeping the space neat and organized
  • Contribute to scheduling and calendar organization for office activities
  • Assist faculty with copy requests and the distribution of office supplies
  • Provide clerical and office support to faculty and staff when primary responsibilities are minimal
  • Interest or experience in social media management, including content creation and event documentation when primary duties are minimal

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to quickly learn and effectively perform assigned tasks
  • Can follow oral instructions accurately
  • Works well with faculty, staff, and other students
  • Strong communication skills, able to interact professionally at all levels
  • Proficiency in reading and writing English at a level appropriate for the position

Required Qualifications

  • Available to work 10-15 hours per week in the front office, Monday through Friday, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m.
  • Must be a non-Sociology major or minor
  • Currently enrolled at CSUF as a new or continuing student with all fees paid for the current regular semester
  • Is in good academic standing (not on academic or continued probation, and not academically dismissed)
  • If applying with a Federal Work-Study (FWS) award, you must have an active FWS award for the year and provide proof by emailing the Sociology Coordinator, Yelitza Vazquez (ymvazquez@fullerton.edu) along with your application
  • Authorized to work in the United States and able to provide valid employment eligibility documents

Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Crime Statistics Act Notification:
Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus. A paper copy of the AFSR is available upon request by contacting the Housing Office located at The Housing & Residential Engagement Main Office.
