Instructional Student Assistant Social Media Specialist

POSITION

The College of Health and Human Development at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant Social Media Communication Specialist position.

Position Summary:
The College of Health and Human Development (HHD) at California State University, Fullerton is seeking a dynamic and creative Instructional Student Assistant Social Media Communication Specialist to join our team. This role will focus on enhancing HHD's online presence through strategic social media initiatives that align with our influencer strategy. The successful candidate will collaborate with faculty, staff, and students to create content that engages our community and promotes the college's mission and values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop recommendations for and implement approve comprehensive social media strategy that supports HHD’s influencer goals and enhances the college's visibility across platforms such as Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, Bluesky, LinkedIn, and TikTok.
  • Create engaging, high-quality content including posts, stories, videos, and graphics that reflect the college's commitment to health, wellness, and human development.
  • Monitor and analyze social media trends, metrics, and audience insights to refine strategies and report on performance.
  • Collaborate with HHD faculty, staff, and student organizations to highlight achievements, events, and initiatives within the college.
  • Identify and engage with potential influencers and partners who align with HHD’s values and goals to expand reach and impact.
  • Stay informed about current events and trends in health and human development to ensure content is relevant and timely.
  • Assist in managing the college’s social media calendar and scheduling posts to maintain consistent and strategic communication.
  • Respond to inquiries and comments on social media platforms in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support the development of campaigns that promote key messages and initiatives (EX: HHD week, Experience Fullerton Day, Orientations, etc.), fostering a sense of community and engagement

REQUIRED
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Currently enrolled as a graduate student at California State University, Fullerton.
  • Proven experience in social media management and content creation, preferably within a positive, health-related context.
  • Strong understanding of social media platforms, tools, and analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly and engagingly.
  • Creative mindset with the ability to generate new ideas and approaches to social media engagement.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with influencer marketing strategies and experience in engaging with influencers is a plus.

COMPENSATION

All Instructional Student Assistant appointments are made under the terms of the Collective Bargaining Agreement between the CSU system and the United Auto Workers.  Initial appointments are for one semester only. 

Classification Range: $17.86 to $23.84 per hour
Anticipated hiring range depending on qualifications, not to exceed $23.84 per hour

The person holding this position is considered a ‘mandated reporter’ under the California Child Abuse And Neglect Reporting Act and is required to comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.

This offer maybe contingent upon the completion of a satisfactory background check and may be rescinded if the background check reveals disqualifying information and/or if information was knowingly withheld or falsified.

Please note, that continued employment is contingent upon your successful completion of a background screening as required under CSU policy. Graduate Assistants rehired at CSUF after a break in service of 12 or more months who have not had a CSUF background check within the past 12 months will be subject to a new background check; rehire is contingent upon the satisfactory completion of the new background check.

Pursuant to the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the current Annual Security Report (ASR) is available for viewing at: https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. This report contains the current security and safety-related policy statements, emergency preparedness and evacuation information, crime prevention and sexual assault prevention information, and drug and alcohol prevention programming. The ASR also contains statistics of Clery Act crimes for California State University, Fullerton for the last three (3) calendar years. Paper copies are available upon request at the CSUF Police Department.

 

Notice of Availability of the Annual Fire Safety Report (AFSR)
In addition, pursuant to the Higher Education Opportunity Act, the AFSR is also available at https://hr.fullerton.edu/risk-management/clery-act/. The purpose of this report is to disclose statistics for fires that occurred within California State University, Fullerton housing facilities for the last three (3) calendar years, and to distribute fire safety policies and procedures intended to promote safety on campus.
