Position Summary:

Stern College for Women at Yeshiva University invites applications for the position of a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Biology, with an anticipated start date of August 2, 2026.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and strong potential to establish an independent, externally funded research program that complements the strengths of the existing faculty, that actively engages undergraduate students in meaningful, hands-on research experience, and that is well-suited to the scale and resources of an undergraduate institution. The position includes teaching and research mentorship within the undergraduate curriculum, one of the largest at Stern College, which serves emerging researchers as well as future healthcare professionals in a wide range of subfields. Joining a robust faculty with a strong sense of intellectual community, the ideal candidate will maintain an active scholarly profile that will lead to a successful tenure case. The candidate will understand and be aligned with the unique mission of Yeshiva University.

The Science Departments at Stern College for Women, Yeshiva University, support a collaborative environment with several professors conducting research supported by NIH and NSF grants. The laboratories at Stern College are equipped with both basic and advanced teaching and research equipment. Science management and grant support teams support the research activities.

This is an in-person position based at Yeshiva University’s Beren Campus in Midtown Manhattan.

Position Responsibilities: 
  • The teaching load for the position includes an undergraduate lecture and laboratory course in Genetics, as well as additional teaching in the undergraduate curriculum
  • The successful candidate will involve students in research, advise and mentor students, and participate in departmental and university service
Experience & Education Background:
  • Applicants must have earned a Ph.D. in biological sciences and must also demonstrate excellence in teaching at the college level
  • Post-doc experience is preferred
Skills & Competencies:
  • Proven records of excellence in teaching and research, supported by teaching reviews and peer-reviewed publications
  • Clear verbal and written communication skills are required

  • Candidates should submit contact information for three references

Salary Range: ASST $70,000 - $90,000
