Position Summary: The Director of Fundraising Communications provides strategic leadership for fundraising-related communications at Yeshiva University. This role is responsible for developing compelling donor-focused materials – including proposals, stewardship reports, case statements and campaign messaging – that inspire philanthropy and strengthen donor relationships. The Director serves as the primary liaison to the University’s central Marketing and Communications department, ensuring alignment with institutional brand, messaging and priorities. This position requires a strategic thinker and skilled communicator who can collaborate across advancement teams, faculty, and university leadership.
Position Responsibilities:  • Lead the strategy, development, and production of high-quality fundraising proposals, case statements, stewardship reports, and campaign collateral.
• Ensure donor communications reflect the University’s voice, brand standards, and fundraising priorities.
• Develop and maintain an editorial calendar which incorporates all key IA events and programs with a corresponding schedule of support
• Partner with development officers, faculty, and leadership to craft persuasive, customized materials that articulate impact and inspire philanthropy.
• Supervise and mentor communications professionals
• Serve as the primary liaison to the University’s Marketing and Communications division.
• Collaborate to ensure alignment of fundraising messaging with university-wide communications and campaigns.
• Advocate for advancement needs within broader institutional marketing strategy.
Experience & Education Background: • Bachelor’s degree; Master’s degree in related field desirable.
• Minimum 8+ years relevant experience in marketing, communications or public relations with demonstrated success, preferably in the nonprofit or higher ed sectors.
• Proven success in leading communications strategy
• Strong project management skills and experience overseeing a multi-faceted strategic approach
Skills & Competencies: • Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate complex ideas into compelling donor messages.
• Adept at managing multiple simultaneous projects and prioritizing and executing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Leadership experience managing teams with a collaborative, inclusive approach.
• Strategic, creative, and donor-focused mindset.
• Ability to balance high-level vision with attention to detail.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
Salary Range: $130,000 - $135,000
