Position Summary:
|
The Facilities Manager – Beren, Brookdale (Cardozo), and Katz Nursing is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance on the assigned campuses. Facilities, Plant Operations, Housekeeping managers, and outside maintenance vendors at these campuses will report to the Facilities Manager.

Position Responsibilities:
|
- Responsible for the proper functioning of all major equipment relating to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning at the Beren, Brookdale (Cardozo), and Katz Nursing Campuses
- Oversees the Housekeeping, Facilities, Maintenance, and Plant Operations Supervisors and outside maintenance vendors at the Beren, Brookdale (Cardozo), and Katz Nursing Campuses as they carry out their responsibilities
- Responsible for setting up and overseeing the maintenance of plant equipment to ensure its proper functioning
- Train and supervise the Housekeeping, Facilities, Maintenance, and Plant Operations Supervisors on complex assortments of equipment;
- Manage the summer refurbishment of the dorms and rental apartments
- Recommend outside vendors where applicable
- Direct Supervisors in emergency situations
- Act as liaison with senior administrative staff at each campus
- Responsible for campus budgets and for planning of capital projects
- Coordinates plant ops and maintenance support at each campus
- Interface with contractors and construction managers on projects managed by the Project Management Office to ensure that maintenance requirements are considered and to ensure a smooth transition from construction to operations
- Responsible for budgeting and managing event setups and campus branding support
- Responsible for work order fulfillment in coordination with the work order dispatcher
- Manage facilities capital projects under $5 million, including sourcing vendors, monitoring quality and progress, approving invoicing, and ensuring smooth closeout
- Available on-call 24 hours for emergency response
- Lead a team of unionized employees with an understanding of union policies and procedures, the ability to navigate concerns, disciplinary action, and employee engagement

Experience & Educational Background:
|
- An associate’s degree and 3-5 years of experience managing a diverse maintenance environment, or a combination of skills and experience, is required
- Knowledge of general union guidelines and operating procedures
- Experience in higher education is preferred

- Specific experience in the engineering/HVAC fields;
Speaks clearly and expresses oneself well in one-on-one conversations and groups

- Continually searches for ways to increase the satisfaction of faculty, students, staff, and other constituents

- Identifies, defines, and analyzes information and situations before recommending a course of action

$107,000 - $117,000
