Yeshiva University announces its new College of Dental Medicine and is hiring a new faculty and staff to support the school. The curriculum will integrate Digital Dentistry techniques to be taught by today’s dental thought leaders and master clinicians. The Dental Billing Manager oversees back-end revenue cycle operations and billing functions. Reporting to the Director of Clinic, this position is responsible for managing the full scope of billing activities, including electronic submission, insurance pre-authorizations, EDI claim edits, electronic remittance advice (ERA) payment posting, denial management, and accounts receivable follow-up. The role ensures accurate coding, timely claims processing, resolution of payer edits and denials, and compliance with payer requirements and applicable regulatory standards.
The Dental Billing Manager works closely with the Manager of Patient Experience to ensure coordination between front-end patient access processes and back-end revenue cycle functions. This role supervises insurance billing specialist staff and oversees daily billing workflows within the electronic health record and practice management systems, ensuring accurate data transmission, payment reconciliation, and claim resolution. The position also oversees credentialing activities, including initial credentialing, re-credentialing, and CAQH attestations, ensuring faculty providers remain properly enrolled with participating in insurance carriers to support uninterrupted billing.
In addition, the Dental Billing Manager develops and maintains standard operating procedures that support staff onboarding, training, and consistent billing practices across the department. Through effective oversight of billing operations, staff supervision, and collaboration with clinical and administrative teams, the Dental Billing Manager supports efficient revenue cycle performance and the financial sustainability of the program.

Position Responsibilities:
|
- Oversee the operations of the billing department, including CDT and CPT coding, charge entry, claims submission, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and reimbursement management.
- Ensure timely and accurate submission of dental and medical claims in accordance with payer requirements and institutional policies.
- Monitor accounts receivable performance and implement strategies to reduce aging and improve reimbursement outcomes.
- Manage electronic claim transmission and EDI components within the electronic health record and practice management system.
- Supervise billing office personnel, including work allocation, staff training, and resolution of operational issues.
- Evaluate staff performance and make recommendations regarding personnel actions while supporting productivity and operational efficiency.
- Supervise insurance billing specialist staff and ensure accurate and timely claims processing.
- Assist in the development and implementation of billing procedures and operational workflows that support effective revenue cycle management.
- Provide training and ongoing support to billing staff on billing practices, coding standards, and departmental procedures.
- Prepare and review billing activity reports and revenue cycle performance metrics.
- Monitor key indicators, including cost to collect, aged accounts receivable by payer, days in accounts receivable, and collection performance relative to net revenue.
- Analyze operational data to identify opportunities for improvement in billing and reimbursement processes.
- Oversee faculty provider credentialing processes, including initial credentialing and re-credentialing with third-party payers.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for billing and revenue cycle staff.
- Maintain credentialing documentation and ensure providers remain active with participating payors.
- Perform and maintain CAQH attestations and manage payer enrollment activities to ensure uninterrupted billing capability.
- Ensure staff are appropriately onboarded and trained on departmental workflows, policies, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate with clinical leadership, patient services, and administrative departments to resolve billing issues and ensure complete documentation required for claims processing.
- Work closely with the Manager of Patient Experience to support coordinated revenue cycle operations across clinical and administrative teams.
- Perform additional responsibilities as assigned.

Experience & Educational Background:
|
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of five to seven (5–7) years of experience in dental or healthcare revenue cycle management, including high-volume claim adjudication and insurance billing operations.
- Demonstrated experience managing dental and medical claims processing, payment posting, accounts receivable follow-up, and denial resolution.
- Minimum of three (5-7) years of supervisory or management experience within a billing or revenue cycle environment preferred.

Skills & Competencies:
|
- Strong knowledge of dental and medical billing practices, including ADA CDT, CPT, and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Understanding of third-party reimbursement policies and healthcare revenue cycle operations.
- Proficiency with electronic health record and practice management systems used in dental or healthcare environments.
- Familiarity with electronic claims processing, EDI claim edits, electronic remittance advice (ERA) posting, and insurance billing workflows.
- Strong analytical and reporting skills with the ability to interpret revenue cycle performance data.
- Familiarity with provider credentialing processes, payer enrollment requirements, and CAQH management.
- Excellent organizational, leadership, and communication skills with the ability to collaborate across clinical and administrative teams.
