Assists in fulfilling one of the missions of Yeshiva University Counseling Center of disseminating mental health information and education to student body and general University personnel. The employee will accomplish this by working directly with the director of the Counseling Center and collaborating with all Counseling Center staff, Student Life, Office of the Dean of Students, Faculty and other campus departments to design and implement student-focused wellness initiatives. Assists in providing timely clinical services, as well.

Position Responsibilities:
|
- Builds and maintains positive working relationships with student-facing campus departments
- Designs and implements/disseminates training materials to staff, faculty, and student groups regarding student emotional health and wellness, with a focus on suicide prevention and substance abuse prevention
- Collaborates with clinical staff to design psychoeducational groups, workshops, events, etc. for students related to emotional health and wellness and crisis prevention
- Coordinates logistics of YU Counseling events, including room reservations, acquisition of materials needed for events, set up and clean up before and after events, and other tasks as needed to ensure that events run smoothly
- Facilitates marketing of YU Counseling events, including managing social media pages, creating and disseminating virtual content and posters, tabling, attending student-facing campus events, speaking to groups of students, faculty, and/or staff, and other marketing activities as appropriate
- Assists the office in its internal assessment of its services and effectiveness
- Supports clinical staff in developing and implementing new student orientation programs and student leader training opportunities
- Occasionally is prepared to assist with office coverage in the absence of the Office Manager, answering telephone inquiries, scheduling appointments, completing student intakes, greeting students in crisis, and following through with other assigned tasks as needed

Experience & Educational Background:
|
- Bachelor's degree required
- Some experience with students struggling with mental health concerns required
- Experience organizing outreach events in a school or camp or other setting
- Clinical experience with people seeking mental health assistance and comfort with interfacing with students in emotional distress preferred

- Motivated and passionate about educating, decreasing stigma, and collaborating about mental health issues
- Organized and able to follow through on details associated with programming and outreach
- Takes initiative and can be work independently to complete tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Displays curiosity and creativity in the area of psychoeducation and vision for a student counseling center
