Reporting directly to the Occupational Therapy Program Director, the Doctoral Capstone Coordinator supports the university in fulfillment of its mission, purpose, and goals. Provides program-specific expertise and is actively engaged in relevant department initiatives. Supports university, campus, and/or departmental goals in order to assure compliance with programmatic accreditation and/or licensure, internal consistency, and graduate outcomes that meet student learning, workplace, and placement expectations. Provides professional leadership and support and serves as an educator, role model, mentor, and facilitator. Assists students in developing, refining, and enacting a capstone project, ensuring doctoral-level academic rigor, fulfillment of standards, and professional relevance. Evaluates student performance and ability to integrate didactic knowledge, evidence, theory, professional communication, and reasoning with the planning and implementation of the capstone project. Serves as a liaison between the occupational therapy program and capstone sites and is responsible for the selection, orientation, implementation, and evaluation of capstone sites, and nurtures the ongoing development of professional collaboration. Fosters professional collegiality with capstone project mentors by providing training, education, and support throughout the capstone project process. Focuses extensively on facilitating student learning associated with prescribed course and program learning outcomes. Creates an educational environment that fosters innovation, responsiveness, and accountability. Actively and substantively participates in the assessment of student learning activities to maximize the potential for students to learn what is necessary to meet prescribed outcomes. Vigorously upholds a culture of academic integrity.

The Associate Dean for Nursing serves as a senior academic leader within the Nursing Programs, participating in visionary direction for academic excellence, program effectiveness, and daily nursing operations.
