The person hired for this position will serve as an hourly computer programmer throughout the 2025-2026 academic year and potentially summer 2026, to support the development, modification, and maintenance of study tasks that are delivered (a) online through Gorilla (https://gorilla.sc), a platform for conducting psychology experiments online and (b) via desktop computers in our lab space. These tasks are designed to assess students’ mathematical knowledge and cognition (e.g., compare sets of fractions, choose which of two answers is a better estimate to a math problem, estimate the position of a number on a number line, etc.). Responsibilities of this position will include adding features or improving functionality of existing tasks, and may also include adapting current tasks to develop new tasks. The position hours are flexible and will fluctuate throughout the semester, for an average of 5–10 hours per week.
