About the role
In this position, you will be assessing the needs of older adult and LiveWell clients to develop and prescribe individual gym-based strength programs. These programs will incorporate a diverse range of exercises to help address clients’ individual needs and goals.

Classification: Livewell Instructor Lvl 1 - $49.99 p/h (inc casual loading)

Key responsibilities include:

  • Conduct Livewell Assessments by screening ad assessing participants and prescribing an individual gym-based program.
  • Actively supervise participants on the gym floor to provide feedback and correction on techniques or provide modifications as required.
  • Prescribe safe and effective exercises to ensure high-risk client’s needs are met including the recommendation to utilise other group exercise programs and pool facilities to enhance the client progression where appropriate.

About you
To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and understanding of older adult’s health and fitness and the ability to develop a program that meets individual needs. You will have a current industry registration as a gym instructor and/or older adults trainer, with experience working with older adult clients.

Essential:

  • Diploma of Fitness and/or Certificate III Fitness and/or the older adults module (SISFFIT014 module) with a minimum of 2 years’ experience working with older adults delivering group fitness/strength training programs.
  • Level 2 First Aid, CPR, Working with Children’s Check.
  • Excellent customer service skills and ability to build relationships with diverse groups of people
