About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for managing assigned projects within the Leisure and Recreation Services. Working with key stakeholders, you will use your communication skills and project management principles to provide specialist advice. The position will also assist with the implementation of the Enterprise Project Management Framework to ensure projects are being delivered in a consistent manner.

Key responsibilities include:
- Effective delivery of assigned projects, including new facility development and integration, system integration and enhancements, compliance, program and service innovations.
- Assist in defining project scope, objectives, milestones, budget and reporting.
- Preparation of contract documentation as required.
- Effectively supervise phases of projects to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget and to specifications set out in contracts.
- Ensure that effective project reporting mechanisms are implemented meeting the needs of key stakeholders and corporate reporting requirements.
- Provide specialist advice and assistance to Unit staff on complex and political issues relating to the portfolio under close supervision and with clear guidelines.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a Tertiary qualification in Project Management or similar field or lesser qualifications and extensive experience.
Essential Experience:
- Extensive experience in project management in a Leisure and Recreation context.
- Demonstrated experience in the use of judgement to enable quality decision making within a project management context.
- Demonstrated ability to build partnerships with a range of stakeholders (both external and internal, including Councillors) to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Demonstrated interpersonal, communications and consultation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member/leader of a team, often working to strict deadlines.
