About the role
In this role, you will provide an efficient, effective, professional, and quality service to internal and external customers by being the first point of contact via phone and email for IT support of council’s desktop environment, Citrix environment, desktop software, corporate applications software, phones, and printers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring all help desk interactions are logged through the help desk software.
  • Providing efficient and quality installation and support to maintain operational capability of desktop hardware and associated equipment in both an on-site and IT Help Desk environment.
  • Providing efficient and quality installation, delivery, and maintenance of software (e.g., Microsoft Office suite), corporate applications software (e.g., HP Records Manager, Oracle, Pathway, etc) in both an on-site and IT Help Desk environment.
  • Maintaining and supporting mobility fleet and associated relevant technologies.
  • Maintaining the administration of user application accounts and associated active directory tasks.
  • Proactively cultivating and maintaining strong team relationships among colleagues on a formal and informal basis across all council functions.
  • Participating in the out of hours support pool.
  • Supporting and troubleshooting the tablet and smart phone fleet.

About you
To be successful in this role you will have high level customer service skills as well as understanding of computer architecture including hardware and networks.

Essential Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in computing or relevant discipline and relevant practical experience in an IT environment or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Ability to effectively develop an understanding of the functions, processes, and procedures of Corporate Systems.
  • Working knowledge of e-mail systems and protocols, Apple IOS devices and enterprise mobility support.
  • Awareness of server roles and responsibilities.
  • Ability to gain user confidence with hardware and software and establish a rapport with staff at all levels.
