About the role
In this role, you will be working at our Bellarine Aquatic and Sports Centre. This casual Leisure Services Officer role provides you with the opportunity to share your passion, skills and experience in either gymnastics or soccer coaching the younger members of our community aged between 2.5 years to 12 years.
Key responsibilities include:
- Provide tuition and guidance to participants during the scheduled sessions.
- Set-up and pack-up of equipment for each session.
- Coordinate and run both the warm up and cool down sessions with participants.
- Manage and apply first aid to participants where required.
- Assist in the development of session plans, as required.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience as a gymnastics or soccer coach, and a willingness to complete coaching accreditation. You will enjoy working with children and be confident in liaising with a diverse range of people.
Essential Experience:
- Understanding of the principles of coaching children, keeping them engaged and managing group settings.
- Good communication skills enough to effectively communicate orally and in writing with participants, families, Council employees and members of the public.
- Be willing to undergo a national police check, medical and functional assessment.
- Working with Children’s Check, First Aid / CPR, and relevant coaching accreditation.
