About the role
In this role, you will support the Manager of Major Projects, as well as supporting the wider team, and help drive the City of Greater Geelong’s ambitious infrastructure goals! With a portfolio exceeding $5.5 billion, the City Infrastructure Directorate oversees everything from award-winning parks to sustainable waste management. Be at the heart of our capital works delivery team, collaborating with various departments to ensure the effective execution of major projects that shape our community.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and support the running of department meetings and functions or events.
- Monitor and coordinate department correspondence, workflows and record keeping.
- Provide essential individual support to the Manager and assist with diary and email management and preparation of management reports.
- Assist the Department in the processing of purchase orders, receipts, contract claims and variations.
- Assist the Manager with ad-hoc assignments including fact finding/information collation, preparing proposals and presentations.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Relevant experience in office administration or similar.
- Well-developed people skills to support, influence, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
- Proficient communication skills - written and verbal.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to show initiative and be proactive
- Ability for critical and analytical thinking and problem solving.
- An ability to efficiently manage time and re-prioritise tasks to respond to immediate needs of the department.
- Strong stakeholder management skills or ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders to achieve task outcomes.
