About the role
In this role you will lead the development and delivery of marketing plans that align with business priorities and the City’s organisation strategy. You’ll provide expert guidance across your portfolio, ensuring consistent messaging and a streamlined customer and stakeholder experience with the Customer & Marketing Department. You’ll plan and implement campaigns, protect the integrity of the City’s brand, and evaluate the impact of marketing initiatives.
Key responsibilities include:
- Act as a liaison and ambassador for the Customer & Marketing Department to the wider organisation, educating on processes, support available and guidelines to follow.
- Develop, implement and measure Marketing Plans, campaigns, promotional activities and annual activity planners, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives.
- Execute various marketing initiatives and implement solutions aligned with departmental strategies and objectives.
- Manage social platforms and content planning for your portfolio.
- Support internal and external communications teams with content creation, including for emergency and crisis communications.
- Deliver subject matter advice to department leaders, relevant stakeholders and external counterparts when required, gaining cooperation and assistance for broadly defined activities.
- Train and actively support others in the team by sharing knowledge to achieve common development goals.
- Implement continuous improvement cycles for marketing initiatives using evidence-based analysis.
- Manage problems that are complex in nature, being able to identify when established procedures are applicable or new procedures need to be created.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have a tertiary qualification in Marketing, Communications, PR or a related field with several years of relevant senior experience working in a similar role and some professional experience in stakeholder management.
Essential experience:
- Demonstrated people skills to support, influence, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
- Strong written skills and ability to source and create content.
- Well-developed planning and time management ability.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or in a team environment as required by the task.
- Previous experience in a marketing driven role demonstrating the use of digital systems, social media and software.
- Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in the provision of high-quality advice and recommendations to senior management, facilitation of workshops, engaging employees with process and data analysis as well as high-level report writing capabilities.
