About the role
In this role, you will support families with children aged 0–6 by delivering short-term, goal-focused interventions that promote child development and ensure access to essential services. You’ll work collaboratively with families and service providers to create safe, stable environments while maintaining accurate records and upholding Council policies in a child-safe, inclusive workplace.
Key responsibilities include:
- Partnering with families and service providers to support safe caregiving.
- Delivering goal-focused interventions to promote child development.
- Reducing risks to children’s health and well-being.
- Linking children in Out of Home Care to essential services.
- Reporting program data accurately and promptly.
- Performing additional duties as directed.
- Maintaining clinical records and adhering to Council policies.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will need a strong understanding of early childhood development and family dynamics, along with the ability to deliver culturally sensitive, confidential, and tailored education. Proficiency in relevant software, a commitment to collaborative, family-centred practice, and awareness of Community Child Health Unit goals are also essential.
Essential Experience:
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., Early Childhood Education and Care) or significant experience in a similar role.
- Understanding of developmental and health needs of infants and young children.
- Experience in adapting and delivering parenting education to diverse learning styles.
- Multidisciplinary team experience.
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills.
- Familiarity with privacy legislation and data handling.
- Community-based work experience.
- Commitment to professional development.
- Valid Working with Children Check.
