About the role
In this dynamic role, you’ll be the go-to person for providing friendly, efficient, and high-quality IT support to Council staff. As the first point of contact, you’ll assist users with a variety of systems including desktop environments, Citrix, business applications, phones, and printers. You'll work across both our on-site locations and the IT Help Desk, playing a vital role in keeping our tech running smoothly and our people connected

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the first point of contact for IT support via phone and email, assisting with desktops, Citrix, software, phones, printers, and business applications.
  • Log all support requests in the help desk system.
  • Install and support desktop hardware and related equipment both on-site and remotely.
  • Install, deliver, and maintain key software and corporate applications (e.g. Microsoft Office, HP Records Manager, Oracle Financials, Pathway).
  • Manage and support the mobile device fleet and related technologies.
  • Administer user accounts and perform Active Directory tasks

About you
To be successful in this role, you will possess a tertiary qualification in computing or a related discipline, combined with relevant experience in an IT environment; or, alternatively, a lesser formal qualification supported by substantial and proven industry experience.

Essential Experience:

  • Understanding of computer architecture including hardware and networks.
  • Excellent working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
  • Report writing ability.
  • Deliver effective informal and formal presentations.
  • Ability to gain user confidence with hardware and software and establish a rapport with staff at all levels.
  • Actively engage in team discussions to assess desktop and mobile environment performance and contribute to future planning.
