About the role
In this role, you will be responsible for driving thought leadership and strategically curate and deliver enterprise-wide capability-building initiatives. Leading our Learning and Organisational Development team, you’ll drive impactful initiatives across the entire employee lifecycle, including in leadership and culture, training and compliance, and Inclusion and Diversity initiatives.
In this role, you will also be leading our new Values Refresh project, to ensure that our culture is enabling us to deliver on the City's organisation strategy, supporting our aspiration to become the highest performing Local Government in Australia and to become an extraordinary employer.
Work type: Permanent Full Time
Classification: SPL $167,354 plus superannuation
Key responsibilities include:
- Design and implement best-practice employee lifecycle systems, including onboarding, talent planning, performance, leadership development, and culture development with a focus on Inclusion and Diversity.
- Collaborate with Centres of Excellence to ensure aligned and integrated organizational outcomes.
- Formulate the City’s Strategic Capability Plan from the outputs of the City’s Strategic Workforce Plan (capacity (FTE) and capability (skills) and design and curate cutting edge individual and organisational capability building initiatives.
- Centrally manage the City’s organisational capability development priorities and budget to ensure impact and alignment to the City’s organisational vision and strategy.
- Design and implement the City’s talent cycle, including talent reviews, succession planning, and strategies for acquisition, development, retention, and performance management.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have proven experience in a similar role within Learning and Organisational Development, covering leadership development, inclusion and diversity, employee experience, and training and compliance.
Essential Experience:
- Degree qualification in Commerce/Business, Organisation Development, Human Resources, Organisational Psychology or a similar field.
- Creativity, user-centered design, critical thinking and leadership will be fundamental to having the expected impact in this business-critical role.
- Extensive knowledge and proven experience in designing Learning and Organisational Development products in a complex and often challenging environment.
- Demonstrated experience in leading a Learning and Organisational Development team, or a team with a similar subject matter area as a Centre of Excellence.
- Demonstrated experience in coaching an executive team and collaborating with others in the pursuit of P&C goals.
- Proven ability to effectively negotiate with and influence stakeholders to achieve support and strategic outcomes.
- Highly developed presentation skills, including experience with using cutting edge technology/applications (PowerPoint as minimum) to present information and persuade.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check (funded by the City). A current Working with Children Check (employee) is required for this position.
