About the role
In this casual role, you will assist with the delivery of public programs and activities of the National Wool Museum (NWM) to ensure the best visitor experiences possible and build audience.
The Programs Assistant will need to be available to support programs offered during regular working hours, school holidays, evenings and weekends.
Work type: Casual
Classification: Band 3 Casual $42.24 p/hr including casual loading
Key responsibilities include:
- Contributing to the development, organisation and delivery of innovative programs of the highest standard for all visitors and participants, including:
- Family and school-holiday programs.
- Customised tours and programs for booked groups.
- Public workshops and events.
- Wellbeing programs for seniors and their families/carers.
- Education programs for early childhood, primary, secondary, tertiary groups.
- Professional Development events.
- Partnership programs and events.

- Supporting the development of materials and activities to enhance the museum experience for self-guided visitors.
- Assisting to maintain spaces, materials and resources used in the delivery of programs, activities and visitor services.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Appropriate post-secondary trade or diploma qualifications, or obtaining qualifications in cultural programs, education or related field.
- Demonstrated expertise in delivering programs, tours, workshops and/or other visitor experiences in a museum or similar setting for a broad range of audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to enhance visitor/learner experiences through exemplary service, communication and interpersonal skills.
- Current Working with Children Check (Employee).
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
