About the role
In this leadership role, you will lead a team of Maternal and Child Health Nurses and Child and Family Support Officers to deliver educational programs and individual support to families. This includes activities that are funded as flexible service delivery in the Universal MCH service and the Sleep and Settling program.
Work type: Temporary Part Time (4 days per week) – 2 year duration
Classification: MCH Year 4 $127,298 pa (plus Team Leader & applicable allowances)
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead a team of Child and Family Support Officers and Maternal and Child Health Nurses to deliver parent education and flexible programs, providing guidance and support as required.
- Ensure flexible activities and Sleep and Settling program delivery are compliant with State Government guidelines, reporting requirements and available funding.
- In consultation with the Nurse Educator, provide continuing professional development for staff and arrange student placements within the flexible program delivery component of the service.
- Participate in clinical governance activities including the development and implementation of procedures.
About you
The ideal candidate for this role will be a highly experienced Maternal Child Heath Nurse, with prior experience in the supervison of staff. You will have a professional approach to your work, be comfortable liaising with a diverse range of people and enjoy finding solutions to complex issues.
Essential Experience:
- Current registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse Division One and Midwife with a post-graduate qualification in Child and Family Health nursing (minimum of Graduate Diploma if qualified in 1999 or later).
- If qualified outside Victoria, completion, or willingness to complete, additional training to be eligible to practice in Victoria as a Maternal and Child Health Nurse.
- Experience in staff supervision and managing staff performance,
- Thorough understanding of the context of Maternal and Child Health nursing in the region and State.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
