About the role
In this role, you will provide vital operational and administrative support to our Mechanical Services team, helping to ensure the efficient delivery of maintenance, servicing, and repair operations across the City’s assets. You’ll play a key part in coordinating service schedules, maintaining accurate records, supporting field technicians, and facilitating communication between internal teams, clients, and suppliers.
Work type: Permanent Full Time.
Classification: Band 4 Commencing at $73,796 pa plus super
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate service bookings, schedules, and maintenance tasks to ensure timely delivery of workshop operations.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation within asset and maintenance management systems.
- Assist with the preparation of quotes, reports, and job documentation.
- Support technicians with logistical arrangements, tools, parts, and materials.
- Liaise with stakeholders to ensure smooth communication and effective service outcomes.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist in procurement of parts and materials.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and uphold workplace health, safety, and wellbeing standards.
About you
To be successful in this role, you are highly organised, proactive, and enjoy working in a hands-on, collaborative environment that supports the City’s commitment to maintaining high-quality infrastructure and public assets.
Essential Experience:
- People skills to support, influence, and collaborate with relevant stakeholders.
- Ability to work to plan and manage time effectively.
- Practical knowledge of mechanical systems, components, and parts relevant to vehicles, heavy plant, and equipment.
- Relevant qualifications and/or experience in administrative or operational support, preferably in a mechanical or technical service environment.
- Victorian Drivers Licence.
- Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and a pre-employment medical assessment as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
