About the role
In this role, you will collaborate with the Platform Engineering Lead, key business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams to transform business requirements into scalable technical solutions that improve service efficiency and user experience.
Work type: Permanent, full-time.
Classification: Band 8 Commencing at $122,040 pa plus super.
Key responsibilities include:
- Design, develop, and implement ServiceNow solutions aligned with business and IT service management requirements, including ITSM, HRSD, Procurement & Legal, and custom applications.
- Configure and customise ServiceNow modules, including flows, forms, UI policies, business rules, scripting, and integrations.
- Build and optimise automation workflows and self-service capabilities to improve user experience and operational efficiency.
- Lead the development of custom applications on the ServiceNow platform to extend and enhance core functionality.
- Actively participate in agile delivery ceremonies, including planning and estimation, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
- Design and implement system integrations between ServiceNow and other enterprise platforms (e.g. ERP, HR, Identity Management, monitoring tools, etc.) using APIs, REST/SOAP, and integration hubs.
- Serve as the technical subject matter expert for the ServiceNow platform.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and platform innovation, including AI, predictive intelligence, and virtual agents.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including design specifications, implementation plans, and user guides.
About you
To be successful in this role, you will have a tertiary qualification in Computer Science, or equivalent qualifications, or an equivalent combination of formal training and significant professional experience in a similar role in a comparable organisation.
Essential Experience:
- Strong technical proficiency across ServiceNow platform architecture, configuration, and customisation.
- Proven experience working with core ServiceNow modules, including IT Service Management (ITSM) (Incident, Problem, Change, Request, and CMDB), Legal Service Delivery, and Sourcing & Procurement Operations.
- Advanced expertise in ServiceNow capabilities such as Flow Designer, Service Catalog, UI Policies, Business Rules, Script Includes, and Client Scripts.
- Solid understanding of scoped applications and custom application development within the ServiceNow platform.
- Experience with modern ways of working such as Scrum or other Agile methodologies.
- Exposure to Human Resources Service Delivery (HRSD) and/or Customer Service Management (CSM) is desirable.
Preferred candidates will be required to undergo a National Police Check and Working with Childrens check as part of the recruitment process (funded by the City).
