A bit about the role:

As part of our Youth Services Team, you will provide information, support and referral services to young people, encouraging participation in a range of programs, and enhancing the quality of life for young people and their families.

The role is based across Youth Information centres at Narre Warren, Hampton Park, Cranbourne and our Casey 360 Bus. For more information on our centres: Find youth centres and services | City of Casey  

This is a part time, limited tenure role until 19 December 2025

What you’ll deliver

  • Provide and promote information, support and referral service to young people, their families and networks.
  • Develop and maintain working relationships with a range of service providers.
  • Maintain a range of information options and resources.
  • Provide an efficient and effective support process with the aim of referring young people appropriately.
  • Develop strategies to encourage participation of young people from a range of socio-economic and cultural backgrounds and young people with disabilities in services and programs

What you’ll bring

  • A tertiary qualification in youth work, psychology, welfare or sociology, or experience in a relevant area
  • Proven experience working with and engaging young people.
  • Understanding of contemporary youth issues
  • Knowledge of the range of services available for young people including accommodation, counselling, family support, legal, employment, drug and alcohol.
  • Experience planning and developing programs, activities and services for young people.
  • Sound assessment and referral skills, conflict resolution and crisis intervention skills
  • Victorian Driver’s License
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History, Working with Children, Eligibility to Work, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio)
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
