A bit about the role

Step into a leadership role where you’ll shape the future of rates and revenue systems at one of Victoria’s fastest-growing councils. As the Rates Systems and Project Lead, you’ll drive the delivery of system upgrades, integrations, and process improvements, ensuring accurate, efficient, and compliant revenue operations.

This role offers the perfect blend of strategic influence, project leadership, and system expertise. You’ll lead key initiatives like TechOne and OneCouncil upgrades, collaborate with stakeholders across the organisation, and guide a small team to deliver impactful outcomes for the community.

What you’ll deliver

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of key rating system projects, including upgrades, integrations, and enhancements.
  • Oversee configuration and maintenance of TechnologyOne and other rating platforms to ensure compliance and data accuracy.
  • Provide expert guidance on system design, automation, and customer data to support efficient operations.
  • Collaborate with internal departments and external vendors to deliver streamlined and effective solutions.
  • Supervise and mentor project officers to support high-quality, timely project delivery and continuous improvement.

What you’ll bring

  • Relevant degree or diploma in business, project management, accounting, or equivalent extensive experience.
  • Proven experience managing system upgrades and integrations, especially with TechnologyOne, OneCouncil, or similar platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of Local Government legislation relevant to rates, revenue, and property valuation.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills across all levels, including government and community.
  • Ability to lead collaboration across cross-functional teams and deliver customer-focused, value-driven project outcomes.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
