A bit about the role
Lead and manage a diverse team to ensure outstanding customer service, seamless operations, and adherence to safety protocols at Bunjil Place.
What you’ll deliver
- Leadership and Team Management: Provide hands-on leadership to ensure team performance aligns with Council values and lead a high-performing frontline team for exceptional visitor service.
- Customer Engagement and Security Service: Champion a welcoming, inclusive precinct, support diverse and culturally safe customer engagement, collaborate across departments for seamless service delivery, and integrate security protocols that enhance rather than impede the visitor experience while maintaining safety standards.
- Resource Planning and Allocation: Plan and allocate team resources according to event schedules and precinct use patterns, ensuring appropriate coverage for all activities.
- Training and Development: Oversee training in compliance, access and inclusion, de-escalation techniques, cultural awareness and child-safe practices, and lead team performance reviews and professional development.
- Safety and Emergency Management: Act as Chief Warden, lead incident and emergency response, ensure compliance with safety protocols, and maintain comprehensive incident reporting and risk assessments.
What you’ll bring
- Qualifications: Certificate IV in Security and Risk Management, postgraduate qualifications, or equivalent experience.
- Leadership Experience: Proven ability to lead, manage, and motivate high-performing teams.
- Community Engagement: Experience working with diverse communities in visitor experience and security.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and conflict resolution through de-escalation skills.)
- The position requires evening and weekend work subject to operational requirements
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check,
