A bit about the role
Play an active role in advancing sustainable infrastructure management in the City of Casey, focusing on construction supervision and the execution of infrastructure projects.
As a key member of the City Design and Construction team to efficiently plan, deliver, and oversee building and civil construction programs.
What you’ll deliver
- Oversee daily progress of building construction projects, ensuring contractor performance and project delivery on time, within budget, and to high standards.
- Provide support and reports to internal stakeholders, including council officers.
- Track project progress, risks, and milestones using the Altus system; prepare financial reports on budgets and variances.
- Administer contracts with service providers, consultants, and contractors.
- Conduct site visits, audits, and compliance assessments; manage asset handover, training, and defects.
- Evaluate project plans for design integrity and policy compliance, and address public/councillor inquiries.
- Collaborate with the City Design and Construction team and other departments; take on additional project management duties as needed.
- Serve as the primary contact and decision-maker for contractors.
What you’ll bring
- Tertiary or trade qualification in Infrastructure Project Management, Building Construction, Civil Engineering or relevant discipline.
- Proven experience in delivering council projects.
- Experience managing significant capital works projects, developing contracts, and supervising consultants and contractors.
- Ability to read and interpret architectural and services plans, drawings, and specifications.
- Experience in contract documentation, construction, and administration.
- Familiarity with project management frameworks.
- Construction White Card.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check & Eligibility to Work check.
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
