A bit about the role
Join a fast paced, high performing Horticulture team. Play a pivotal role in setting a benchmark for horticultural excellence across key Council 1000 open spaces, including Wilson Botanic Park, Premier Activity Centres, Casey Fields, and other open spaces.
What you’ll deliver
Collaborate closely with the Team Leader and Coordinator on operational planning and execution, while also contributing to the development and implementation of Council’s Asset Management System and horticultural data processes.
What you’ll bring
- A tertiary qualification of AQF level 3 or higher in Parks and Gardens, Horticulture or related discipline, or relevant experience.
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience working in the horticultural maintenance of premier public spaces, including use of a broad range of plant and equipment.
- Intermediate computer skills, proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office suite and other data management systems.
- Demonstrated experience in the management and delivery of OHS & risk management principles and practices.
- Current Australian Driver’s licence with Medium Rigid Truck Endorsement.
- Agricultural Chemical Users Permit (ACUP)
- White Card.
- Current certificate in First Aid is desirable.
- Front End Loader Licence is desirable.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, Functional Assessment (Medical/physio)
