A bit about the role

We are seeking a dedicated Rates Administration Officer to join our Revenue and Rating team. The primary responsibilities of this role include assisting with the rates administration such as pension rebates, property acquisitions and updating of NAR database.

You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Revenue and Rating team, adhering to statutory regulations and council policies. Providing administrative support  to ensure the department functions effectively. If you are detail-oriented, customer-focused, and thrive in a collaborative environment, we encourage you to apply.

What you’ll deliver

  • Assist with the recording, administration, and verification of pensioner rate rebates.
  • Process property acquisition, disposition and Change of Address details.
  • Prepare duplicate rate notices and letters to new owners.
  • Maintain NAR database including the linking/delinking/merging of names and/or addresses.
  • Process and issue Land Information Certificates.
  • Assist with the processing of Direct Debit Applications.
  • Attend to telephone and personal enquiries and provide sound and accurate advice to solicitors and members of the public.

What you’ll bring

  • Demonstrated skills and experience commensurate with the requirements of the role.
  • Ability to community and collaborate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders both written and verbal.
  • Proven experience working a high-volume administrative role that requires effective time management and attention to detail.
  • Excellent MS Office skills including experience in database management.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
