The Community Activation team has an exciting opportunity to help shape programs that empower and strengthen community leaders and volunteers and drive positive change across the City of Casey.

A bit about the role
In this role you will lead the strategic and operational direction of capacity-building activities for volunteers and community groups in the City of Casey and shape a visionary framework that unlocks diverse and meaningful pathways to leadership.
You will have the opportunity to actively collaborate across Council departments and respond to changing community needs and interests, and oversee one direct report.
The position is full time until 31 January 2026.
What you’ll deliver:
- Design a new Climate and Biodiversity Action Leadership Program for community members with key stakeholders and prepare for its launch in 2026.
- Proactively support Food Relief organisations in Casey to grow their impact and create spaces for networking and collaboration.
- Champion the growth and evolution of a well-established Community Training Program that supports and strengthens not for profits across Casey.
- Coordinate the Casey Catalyst Leadership Group, a collective of inspiring alumni shaping local leadership in Casey.
- Manage the Casey Community Awards program to recognise and reward community leadership.
What you’ll bring
- Project management skills and the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects and stakeholders
- Relevant qualifications in community services, education, health services or related field or substantial relevant experience.
- Demonstrated experience in program design, implementation, and evaluation.
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated networking and relationship management skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of continuous improvement, client safety and risk management principles
- A sound understanding of existing and emerging issues for the volunteer sector.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check
- A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
