A bit about the role

Our Vocation Work Experience Program provides students in the penultimate year of an Engineering Degree with the opportunity to receive hands on, practical experience that is relevant to their degree.

What you’ll deliver

  • Support Senior Engineers in the Traffic & Drainage, Design, and Civil Construction teams with daily tasks and project coordination.
  • Assist in monitoring civil construction works within subdivisions, including roads, drainage, and footpaths, while learning about subdivision processes.
  • Record site progress, identify non-compliance issues, and liaise with contractors under supervision.
  • Monitor road reserve works to ensure compliance with Council permits and legislation, and learn to identify unauthorised works or safety risks.
  • Prepare site inspection records and correspondence, ensuring adherence to City of Casey policies and safe work practices.

What you’ll bring

  • Undertaking undergraduate studies in a Civil Engineering degree or similar discipline.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
  • A curious, collaborative, and inclusive community mindset.
