About the Role
Leading a newly formed regional team, you’ll bring enthusiasm, creativity and direction to Youth Services across the North region, contributing to new ways of working, building strong community partnerships and co‑designing initiatives with young people. With a balance of big‑picture strategy and lively operational leadership, you’ll ensure services are engaging, accessible and impactful.
What You’ll deliver
Supported by the Head of Youth Services, and leading a team of Youth Service Development Officers, you will
- Lead, develop and inspire a high‑performing team, fostering a culture grounded in innovation, inclusion, collaboration and continuous learning.
- Provide purposeful direction and coaching, ensuring team members have clear expectations, aligned objectives and a positive, supported experience at work.
- Work closely with the Youth Services Leadership Team to champion quality, innovation and continuous improvement across all service offerings, including the evaluation and refinement of new initiatives.
- Oversee daily operations of Youth Information Centres, the Youth Services Van and regional programs, ensuring high service standards, strong compliance and safe, ethical practice at all times.
- Promote genuine access and participation, ensuring young people can easily connect with services, programs, committees and engagement opportunities that reflect their interests and needs.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in youth work, social work, community development, or a related discipline, with strong knowledge of contemporary youth service delivery and leadership principles.
- Proven experience in leading youth services teams and programs, including operational oversight and driving strategic planning, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Demonstrated ability to manage staff performance and capability development, fostering a positive, values-driven team culture
- Strong knowledge of child safeguarding obligations, governance, and compliance requirements, ensuring safe and ethical service delivery.
- Experience designing and delivering innovative youth and community programs with measurable social impact, supported by monitoring and evaluation skills.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Proven financial management skills, including budgeting, financial analysis, and contributing to effective planning and resource allocation.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check.
