About the Role
Support initiatives that create opportunities for young people to grow, enhance wellbeing, resilience and belonging in the Casey community.
This role will be based our Youth Information Centres with outreach to community facilities and other community spaces.
What You’ll deliver
- Actively engage with young people in Youth Information Centres, serving as a key link between youth, schools, community, and support services.
- Assist with the design and implementation of youth initiatives that build life skills and leadership, including van outreach and regional youth committees.
- Collaborate with the Youth Services team to establish rapport with young people, parents/carers and relevant agencies to deliver programs, provide referrals, and advocate for young people in the Casey region.
- Ensure compliance with Child Safe policy and procedures, including reporting and documentation.
- Maintain and adapt knowledge of the diverse community wants and evolving needs of the region, services and issues impacting young people’s access and participation
What You’ll Bring
- Qualifications in Community Services, Youth Work, welfare or similar discipline.
- Proven experience engaging young people – including:
- The ability to build rapport and connect with young people from diverse social-economic and cultural backgrounds.
- The ability to plan and deliver programs and community events.
- Sound assessment, referral, reporting and child safety requirements.
- Cooperative, relationship-focused and team oriented.
- Adaptable and open to new ideas.
- Maintains composure, conflict resolution and is resilient in challenging situations.
- Current Victorian Driver Licence and ability to drive a vehicle/van.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Functional Assessment
