About the Role

In this role, provide strategic leadership, drive policy, strategy and service innovation whilst leading a large, multi skilled team and building strong stakeholder relationships across animal management, amenity, parking and local laws that enhance safety and liveability across the City of Casey.

What You’ll deliver

  • Lead and develop a large, multi skilled workforce, building capability, engagement and performance through clear direction, coaching and a strong values led culture.
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across animal management, amenity, parking and local laws, ensuring effective, consistent and community focused compliance services across the City of Casey.
  • Drive education led, proactive and prevention focused compliance approaches that improve safety, protect local amenity and strengthen community trust.
  • Shape and influence policy, strategy and service delivery, identifying opportunities for innovation, continuous improvement and the effective use of technology.
  • Build and maintain strong internal and external stakeholder relationships, ensuring legislative compliance, sound governance, effective risk management and positive community outcomes.

What You’ll Bring

  • A strong track record of senior leadership in compliance, regulatory or enforcement functions, with the ability to operate confidently in a complex, politically sensitive and community facing environment.
  • Demonstrated capability to lead large, diverse and multi disciplinary teams, driving organisational performance, accountability and a culture of trust, professionalism and continuous improvement.
  • Strategic acumen with experience shaping policy, setting direction and delivering education‑led compliance models that balance legislative integrity with positive community outcomes.
  • Deep understanding of investigations, statutory enforcement and governance frameworks, alongside sound judgement, risk awareness and commitment to fair, consistent decision making.
  • Highly developed executive‑level communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to influence, collaborate and build strong partnerships across Council, government agencies and the community.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check, and Psychometric Testing.
