About the Role
You will lead early planning for community facility projects, ensuring strategic alignment and capital works readiness.
This role will provide specialist advice on community facility planning and concept development to meet current and future needs.
What You’ll deliver
- Provide senior leadership in the collaborative planning and delivery of integrated community facilities across internal service areas and external partners.
- Lead and manage early planning phases of complex community facility projects, ensuring strong governance, risk management, capital readiness and informed decision‑making.
- Deliver specialist, high‑level input into strategic planning processes, including precinct structure planning and master planning, to address current and future community needs.
- Build and sustain effective internal and external stakeholder relationships to inform planning outcomes and leverage partnership and funding opportunities.
- Act as a subject matter expert, driving innovative, inclusive and sustainable approaches to community facility planning and delivery across growth and established areas.
What You’ll Bring
- Tertiary qualification in Urban or Town Planning, Social or Strategic Planning, Community Development, Project Management, or a related discipline (desirable).
- Demonstrated understanding of project management principles, particularly in the early planning and concept phases of capital projects.
- Proven experience or understanding of community facility planning, development and delivery within a local government or public sector context.
- Strong capability to work collaboratively with diverse internal and external stakeholders to inform high‑quality planning outcomes and decision‑making.
- Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
