About the Role

The Senior Construction Supervisor leads and oversees the Construction Supervision operational team to ensure Council assets are delivered in line with approved plans, standards and regulatory requirements.

The role drives consistent, high‑quality inspection practices, contributes to continuous improvement of procedures, and partners with internal and external stakeholders to deliver strong outcomes for the community.

What You’ll deliver 

  • Lead, coordinate and mentor the Construction Supervision Operational team, managing daily workloads, inspection planning, customer requests and site‑specific activities.
  • Provide onsite supervision of subdivision, DCP and ICP‑funded works to ensure compliance with approved designs, Council standards, permits and statutory requirements.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying service delivery gaps, resolving operational issues and enhancing inspection processes and performance outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate, compliant inspection records and contribute to high‑quality reporting on construction activities, issues and outcomes in collaboration with internal stakeholders.
  • Promote a safe working environment and maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of relevant legislation, standards and industry developments to support team capability and compliance.

What You’ll Bring 

  • Tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering and/or substantial experience in civil construction with a strong understanding of construction processes and methodologies.
  • Demonstrated experience supervising subdivision developments and delivering works in line with approved engineering designs and Council standards.
  • Proven ability to maintain high‑quality quality control and inspection documentation using Council‑approved systems.
  • Strong capability to interpret, communicate and explain engineering drawings to a range of stakeholders.
  • Experience mentoring and supporting officers to improve performance, capability and service outcomes.
  • Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check, Eligibility to Work check and Functional Assessment (Medical/physio).
