About You and the Role

We can’t wait for you to join our team as a Principal Electrical Engineer and bring your fresh perspective to the team. This role will give you the opportunity to work on diverse projects including wind, solar, battery storage, pumped hydro and utilities works (transmission and distribution substations, switchyards and lines) for a broad range of clients.

The technical scope of works covers the following areas:

• Primary Electrical Design (equipment layout, sizing, specifications etc.)
• HV earthing design and earth performance testing,
• HV and LV overhead and underground distribution design,
• LV and HV cable design,
• Insulation co-ordination,
• Lightning protection design
• Arc-flash
• EMF studies

You will work with, and actively contribute to an effective and experienced team who will help you further develop your skills and knowledge.

You have a background working in the energy sector experience in the following areas:

• Extensive experience in this space ideally 10+ years.
• Tertiary qualifications in Electrical Engineering.
• Monitoring financial progress of projects, including maintaining estimates of final project cost and cash flow, including comparing progress to business case and preparing regular reports.
• Experience in HV earthing design and earth performance testing.
• High level experience in using Electromagnetic Transient Program (EMPT) and Current Distribution, Electromagnetic Fields, Grounding and Soil Structure Analysis (CDEGS).
• Detailed knowledge and experience of power system development and operation.
• Estimating and quoting experience as applied in the electrical consulting environment.
• Previous experience in a consultancy environment.
