St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population exceeding 1500 students in 2024. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the college is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis was founded in 2017 and offers new, state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.
A permanent full time position commencing 14 October 2024 (or by negotiation). The successful applicant will be required to lead a team of committed professionals in the Vocational Education and Training faculty and provide leadership and passion to support students in the area of VET.
The role of Middle Leader exists to support the principal in implementing the vision and mission of the school, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students and assist the school leadership team in the conduct and organisation of the school.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
The preferred applicant demonstrates the following criteria:
- Has a deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- Demonstrates a commitment to academic excellence and a sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.
- Builds a learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.
- Displays an ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.
- Has a comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.
- Knowledge and understanding of requirements of all courses within the relevant VET Curriculum.

DESIRABLE CRITERIA:
- Aptitude and willingness to contribute to the broader life of St Francis Catholic College whilst leading and supporting the VET faculty and its students.
- Experience teaching one or more VET subjects to Stage 6.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Appropriate qualifications for teaching courses of VET to HSC Level and industry standards, preferably including Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (TAE40116).
- Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with to ‘Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong’ policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.
- NESA Accreditation at Proficient Teacher level or above.
