Purpose of the role is to…

The Payroll Officer (18 Month Maternity Cover) is responsible for producing and processing the payrolls at HPP monthly, ensuring they are done to a high standard (on time, in full with no errors). Including all the activities relating to and surrounding the monthly processing, and annual activities.

In addition to the payroll, this role is responsible for managing the HRIS systems in place, keeping them up to date and accurate at all times, including the reporting to other departments such as finance.

Available for a March start date

Have experience of…

  • Proven 5 years of work experience as a Payroll Officer or similar Managing a payroll for approx. 500 - 1,000 staff
  • Hands on experience with HRIS and Payroll software
  • Using their initiative to take ownership for their area of responsibility

  • Payroll processing
  • Tax and tax year processing
  • Statutory Payments & Reporting Requirements
  • Labour Legislation

 Process the Employee Monthly Payroll to a high level – expecting an accuracy rate of 98% +

    • Manage all variable data
    • Starters / Leavers
    • Ad hoc requests
  • Manage the payroll provider to ensure accuracy levels are maintained, and to a high level
  • Post payroll reporting
  • Tax Year End Processing
    • P60’s
    • P11d’s
    • Employer NIC contributions
    • Early Year Updates
    • Managing HMRC account
  • Point of contract for employee queries on Pay
  • Assisting with the day-to-day support with the benefits administration
  • Ad Hoc reporting from the HRIS to support compensation & benefit activities
  • Support if required - Process the Expat Payroll
    • APro
    • Invoice tracking
    • Starters / Leavers
    • Tax Payments
  • Support Payroll apprentice in tasks, to ensure all required work is completed to the desired standard.
  • Responsible for the Gender Pay report figures
