The role:

• This position is ideal for somebody looking for their 2^nd role in their Health and Safety career
• Actively encourage and promote a positive H&S culture throughout the organisation by working pro-actively with managers and staff across all areas of the business.
• Investigate HSE incidents, identifying root causes and working with stakeholders to achieve timely and effective close-out.
• Create and deliver training sessions including inductions, toolbox talks, and specific HSE courses.
• Analyse HSE performance data to identify trends, opportunities and priorities for improvement.
• Conduct audits, inspections and risk assessments, working in collaboration with process owners to risk levels of risk.
• Chair and contribute to HSE meetings and forums, sharing best practices and lessons learned.
• Maintain accurate HSE records, including inspections, incidents and training logs.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in an HSE role within a fast-paced R&D/manufacturing/engineering environment
• Educated to degree level ideally in a STEM subject or relevant topic area
• Good working knowledge of UK health & safety legislation
• Minimum NEBOSH certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
• Experience working with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 and auditing management systems is a distinct advantage.
• Confident communicator able to influence at all levels of the organisation.  Comfortable when presenting to a diverse audience.
• Good organisation & planning skills.
• Skilled in auditing, risk assessment and incident investigation.
• Accurate and attentive to detail, with a good standard of written English
