Nova Nickel Operation | FIFO (Perth) or DIDO (surrounding areas)

Remuneration:     

$120K p.a. incl. Super (part time) / $160K p.a. incl. Super (full time equivalent) subject to experience and benchmarking

The Role

Our team at Nova is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to provide additional coverage and on-call support. This role is a Monday to Wednesday position and will be on-call at night. A requirement of this contract role is to also provide full time leave coverage from time to time on an 8:6 roster.

Supported by a trained Emergency Services Coordinator and emergency response team (ERT), you will primarily be responsible for providing first response primary health, medical and trauma care and return to work injury management whilst maintaining the site medical centre and associated first-aid facilities.

Key duties include:

  • Assessing and coordinating the treatment and ongoing care of injuries and illness;
  • Responding to emergency medical events;
  • Administering basic and advanced life support treatment to patients at the scene of an emergency;
  • Maintaining accurate injury and treatment records using Solv;
  • Monitoring, reviewing and recording the results of medical activities on site;
  • Preparing and monitoring return to work programs; and
  • Conducting regular Drug and Alcohol Testing. 

 

Your Experience

We are seeking applicants who are passionate about the health, safety and care of people and want to join a friendly team working in first class medical centre.

The successful candidate will bring:

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing and AHPRA registration;
  • Significant experience working as a remote area Nurse preferably within the mining industry;
  • Experience in emergency care and providing emergency response within a remote location;
  • Current quals as Nurse Immuniser and ‘Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing (HLTPAT005);
  • Advanced Life Support;
  • Proficient computer skills, ideally using INX and clinical software packages such as Solv;
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to develop, establish and sustain solid working relationships;
  • Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers licence, and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
