The Opportunity

Responsible for the effective supervision of all care and maintenance related activities on site to enable achievement of budgeted targets, meeting all quality and statutory standards including cost, safety and environment.

Key duties include:

  • Manage the compliance requirements as specified in WHS Act 2020 and the WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022;
  • Assume responsibility for the overall site electrical reticulation system on both surface and underground;
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and audit of the OHS and Environmental Management;
  • Supervise the day-to-day activities of the care and maintenance team and contractors in a cost effective and efficient manner, ensuring awareness of performance targets, access to the necessary tools to achieve these and that their activities are aligned with operational targets;
  • Assist with Care and Maintenance department OPEX and CAPEX budgets;
  • Ensure a safe work environment by ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and free of hazards, reporting these using designated reporting systems;
  • Foster a mutually supportive working relationship with all departments particular the electrical employees who are established onsite;
  • Development of switching procedures for all work deemed as High Voltage whilst addressing the requirements; and,
  • Active ERT member.

Your Experience

Along with an engaging communication style and pro-active attitude, you must be a team player and bring the following skills:

  • Strong technical expertise and extensive experience working within plant processing and ideally underground fixed plant equipment;
  • Excellent communication skills at all levels from management to subordinates;
  • High Voltage Switching Ticket;
  • Confined Space;
  • Working at heights;
  • Forklift licence;
  • EWP licence;
  • Current (MR or HR) driver’s licence;
  • Emergency Response;
  • Statutory Supervisor Qualification;
  • Valid C Class Manual Driver’s Licence (preferred); and,
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
