Your Opportunity

Our world class Nova Operation is seeking a Senior Production Engineer to join the Technical Services team. Reporting to the Technical Services Superintendent, the focus of this role is to lead a team of underground production engineers to perform mine design and drill and blast functions.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Supervision of the stope design process and subsequent drill and blast plans;
  • Supervise the implementation of the weekly schedule for development, production and auxiliary tasks;
  • Developing strong relationships with operational personnel including the mining contractor;
  • Planning, coordinating, and undertaking project work to continuously improve drill and blast performance;
  • Engage and manage external contractors where required to support mine production activities;
  • Provide technical support and mentoring to mining engineers and assist in developing team capability; and
  • Act as Deputy Underground Manager when required.

 

Your Experience

The ideal candidate will have a strong commitment to workplace safety and enjoy mentoring and leading a team to success. They will also bring the following:

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Mining Engineering;
  • A First Class Mine Manager's Certificate of Competency (desirable);
  • Significant underground mining experience with sound knowledge of longhole drilling, blasting, ventilation, projects, planning and scheduling;
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence and engage at all levels within the business;
  • Self-motivated and well organised to ensure the timely delivery of projects and tasks assigned to the role;
  • Experience with Deswik software preferred;
  • Valid ‘C’ class manual drivers’ licence; and
  • National Police Clearance obtained within the last two months.
