The person in this role is responsible for coordinating and administering to the 30+ instructional spaces, facility spaces, and technical systems in support of teaching, learning, research, communications and administrative purposes at the VT Northern Virginia Center, Falls Church, Virginia. Required skills may not be limited to the following: writing and editing, technical or instructional media delivery, or video. Works closely with and/or provides counsel to faculty and other campus representatives and constituents on best practices for instructional delivery.
Work schedule: Monday - Friday 11:00 A.M. to 8:00 P.M.
Broad overall knowledge and experience in the use of computer, audio, video, and networking technologies. Thorough understanding and experience in classroom and/or instructional based video and audio systems and the ability to use this information to troubleshoot and resolve system conflicts. Ability to proactively assess and contribute to the campus needs for AV IT technology products and design services to meet those needs. Possess the ability to quickly learn new instructional delivery tools and technologies, and adapt to an evolving field. Adept and enthusiastic about learning new technologies and new skills. Demonstrates ability to offer high-level customer service and consultative skills to identify and implement required technology solutions. Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with both technical and nontechnical personnel at all levels in the organization.
Bachelor degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Multiple years of progressively responsible experience in a similar role/field. Experience with conferencing/AV systems. Experience working with instructional delivery in classroom and distance classroom a plus. AV Certifications (ex: CTS, or AV Technologist certificates)|
