The Financial Aid Advisor will provide excellent customer service to students, parents, faculty, staff, and the public through phone counseling, providing support to the federal work-study program, and assist with document management. The advisor will assist in resolving student eligibility issues, performing verification, determining eligibility for financial aid, processing awards, reviewing appeals for recalculation of aid, adjusting aid and resolving over awards. Additionally, this financial aid advisor will provide administrative support to the Director and the office.
This position requires a customer-focused person who works cooperatively, adapts easily and quickly, accepts responsibility, ensures a high level of accuracy with attention to detail, and thrives in a high-volume environment. Knowledge and skill requirements include: Demonstrated proficiency in providing excellent customer service; ability to prioritize and manage multiple competing tasks; strong listening and communication skills; public speaking and presentation skills; demonstrated proficiency with standard office software; ability to exercise sound judgment in making difficult decisions; and, ability to respect and protect confidential information. Experience in office administration; higher education; or in a financial aid office.
Salary commensurate with experience up to a budget max of $40,000

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check as well as documentation of COVID-19 vaccination or receive approval from the university for a vaccination exemption due to a medical condition or sincerely held religious belief.
