Job Description

Reporting to the Director for Analytics and Accountability, this position will be responsible for:

• Run reports on a periodic basis, performs data analytics on financial data, and data mines large sets of financial data.
• Prepare timely, accurate, and comprehensive financial reports for CPIF.
• Developing and implementing new functionality of various Enterprise Applications including but not limited to HokieServ.
• Overseeing and managing Enterprise projects while ensuring that problems are resolved and risks are mitigated while deadlines are appropriately met.
• Developing end user training materials and writing and maintaining system documentation including process flow analysis and descriptions.
• Conducting stakeholder meetings to include standing or ad hoc teams assigned to implement new solutions, determining the effectiveness of current functionality, and managing the change control process during the development and implementation of solutions
• Monitoring and evaluating program effectiveness while assuring policies and procedures are interpreted to facilitate optimum service delivery and program.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with enterprise system integration in a higher educational environment.
• Bachelor's degree in information technology, accounting, accounting information systems, business education or equivalent related experience.
• Experience with process mapping and data conversions.
• Experience in procurement and business principles with the ability to research, perform complex financial calculations, analyze accounts, and create financial reports.
• Experience such as extracting data from enterprise financial systems and manipulating data
• Proficiency with Windows and Apple operating systems; Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Experience such as mining data and preparing reports from that data utilizing various reporting and analysis tools, such as Microsoft Excel, Data Mining, SCOOP, and/or AIM IQ.|
• Demonstrated use of effective problem solving organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Experience with relational databases, reporting and business intelligence tools.
• Experience providing daily technical support for end users.
• Experience in reconciling large data sets.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite within Windows operating system environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA or Master's Degree, or equivalent fiscal management experience.
CPA, or other professional license.
• Experience with Banner HR, Banner Finance, HokieServ, & HokieMart systems.
• SQL programming experience.
• Advanced Excel skills including pivot table development and advanced lookup functions.
• Experience with AssetWorks AiM: Intelligent Workplace Management.
• Experience in the trades industry working with enterprise wide management systems.
• Awareness of Virginia Tech Campus Planning, Infrastructure and Facilities processes and procedures

Additional Information

• Work is performed primarily in an office or conference room/classroom setting.
• Ability to safely move and handle up to 30 pounds, work for long periods of time sitting, and performing repetitive movement through use of keyboarding.
• May travel to various Virginia Tech sites to setup and conduct training or provide consultation on system use.
• Must have a criminal background check.
• Must have an acceptable and safe driving record.
• Must have a driver's license check.
• May be requested to work outside of normal business hours to meet system and client needs.

The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
