The Research Operations Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the seamless operation of research activities within the Virginia-Maryland College of Veterinary Medicine's Office of Research and Graduate Studies. This multifaceted role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including managing research facilities, overseeing service centers, maintaining research equipment, managing inventory, ensuring compliance with regulations, upholding safety standards, and effectively managing personnel. The Research Operations Manager directly supervises a diverse team consisting of service center staff, office-funded technicians, shared lab personnel, and lab support personnel. Reporting directly to the Associate Dean of Research and Graduate Studies, this role is instrumental in driving the college's research objectives forward.
Master's degree in a relevant field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven track record of effective leadership, project management and team management.
Prior lab experience/lab management/ lab maintenance.
Prior research experience.
Strong organizational acumen and adeptness in problem-solving.
In-depth knowledge and experience with research equipment, facilities management, and safety protocols.
Excellent communication skills to facilitate collaboration among diverse stakeholders.
Prior experience in research operations or related fields is highly desirable.
Salary; to commensurate with experience
The successful candidate will be required to have a criminal conviction check.
